To explore the depths of the underwater world, OMEGA has improved its ceramic technology with the Seamaster Planet Ocean Black Watch. This 45.5 mm timepiece exudes extraordinary charm by combining GMT with diving functions. The addition of red decorative elements means that when reaching a water depth of 5 meters, red is the first color that is no longer clearly visible.
The matte case is made from a single block of ceramic, while rubber and ceramic are combined to create a unique unidirectional rotating bezel. This colour-matching innovation is applied to the first 15 minutes of the scale, while the rest of the diving scale is created using Liquidmetal™ technology. The "OMEGA" designation on the crown and the "He" designation on the helium escape valve are coloured with red injection rubber.
The black ceramic dial features a GMT bezel with red Arabic numerals, while the hands and indexes are made of 18K white gold with a white Super-LumiNova finish. Another OMEGA innovation is the directional caseback, which allows the engraving to be in place, made possible by the use of OMEGA's new ceramic "Naiad Lock".
Other design features include a screw-down case back with a coveolar motif and a black rubber strap with red stitching and antimicrobial paint. Water-resistant to 60 bar pressure, the Planet Ocean Black is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8906. To achieve Master Chronometer certification, the watch has undergone eight rigorous tests set by the Switzerland Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
